14TH INTERNATIONAL VIOLONCELLO COMPETITION “VILLA DE LLANES” 2012
Two trials will be held:
1ª) Preliminary stage.
At this first stage, the following works will be played:
a) Prelude and Contrasting movement of one of the Suites no. 4, 5 or 6 by J.S. Bach.
b) Two contrasting movements of one of the following works:
Hindemith: Sonata for solo cello, Crumb: Sonata for solo cello, Reger:Suites, Britten:Suites, Ligeti: Sonata for solo cello (complete).
c) A movement Allegro of any of the Sonatas for cello and bc Luicgi Boccherini (recommended not to use the issue of Piatti and yes Viti Paternoster for Ricordi).
2ª) Final stage.
At this stage, the following works will be played:
a) Obligatory work: Sonata for cello and piano by Claude Debussy.
b) Spanish Obligatory work: Green Devil's Dance Cassdó.
c) First movement of one of the following sonatas:
Brahms, Sonata No, 2 op.99 in FaM, Schubert, Sonata "Arpeggiones" Beethoven, Sonata No3 op.69.
d) First movement of one of the following concerts:
Dvorak, Schuman, Shstackovich, Tchaikovsky: Rococo Variations (complete).
· Every contestant will bring their own accompanying pianist.
· Every work will be played by heart, except the sonatas with piano.
