David Sánchez

He began his piano studies at the Professional Conservatory of Music in Oviedo with Ramón Finca. He graduated with the Special Award for Excellence in Academic Performance. In 2012, he was accepted at the Superior Conservatory of Music in Asturias, to continue his studies under the tuition of Teresa Pérez. He graduated in piano performance and piano pedagogy, obtaining the Graduation Prize “Ángel Muñiz Toca”, the highest distinction. He completed his Master’s degree in Piano at Fontys Hogeschool voor de Kunsten in Tilburg (The Netherlands), under Nicolas Callot. Throughout his career, he has received piano lessons from: Josep Colom, Claudio Martínez-Mehner, Francisco Jaime Pantín, Nino Kereselidze, Klaus Hellwig, Lucas Blondeel, Nikolaas Kende…

Being an enthusiast of chamber music, he usually performs with different ensembles, giving numerous concerts in Spain, Portugal and The Netherlands. He is committed to spreading contemporary music, premiering various works by the composer Ximo Tarín-Mico and participating in the “XXVI Jornadas de Música Contemporánea de Segovia”. As a piano accompanist, he has collaborated with the choir “Voces Blancas del Nalón”, joining the “Festival coros de Verão” in Lisbon. In addition, he has worked with the “International Opera Studio” in a Lyric Gala at “Teatro de la Laboral” (Gijón). 

He has worked as a piano teacher at Oviedo and Gijón Professional Conservatories. Nowadays he works at “Conservatorio Lucrecia Arana” (Haro). While doing so, he has had the opportunity to develop his expertise in accompanying Viola, Cello and Flute.
