Luisa Yolanda Sánchez Castellanos is a violinist born in Asturias in 1994. She started
her violin studies at the age of 6 with Mr. Saúl Suárez. Afterwards, she studied for ten
years with Mr. Lev Chistyakov at the “Julián Orbón” Middle Studies of Music Centre in
Avilés and then, completed her Bachelor’s degree at the Conservatory of Music of
Oviedo with Professor Alexei Mijlin.
In addition, she finished a Master’s degree in Soloist Performance with Ms. Mariana
Todorova at Katarina Gurska Centre (Madrid). Later, she studied a Master’s degree in
Violin Performance with Professor Valery Oistrakh at the Koninklijk Conservatorium
(Brussels), where she also attended baroque violin with François Fernandez.
At the same time, she attended masterclasses with several renowned professors such
as Olga Virkomiskaya, Sergey Teslya, Ceceilia Berkovich, Jacek Niwelt, María Sáiz,
Oleguer Beltrán and professors from Julliard School among others. Moreover, she has
completed her training as a teacher with Mr. Kurt Sassmannshaus and Sergio Castro.
She is part of Gustav Mahler Jugendorchester reserve list and collaborates with
several professional orchestras like Bankia Symphony Orchestra, participating in the
show “Callas in Concert – An hologram”; Brussels Philharmonic Orchestra and Oviedo
Philharmonic Orchestra. She is a founder member of Avilés Symphony Orchestra and
the ensemble Baroque Essence.
She also participates in a variety of youth orchetras including JOCAN (Canarias Youth
Orchestra), CISO (Ceuta International Symphony Orchestra), Akademos Symfonie van
Talenten, OSAV (Ávila Symphony Orchestra) or JOSCAN (Cantabria Youth Symphony
Orchestra). In these projects she performed in different countries including China, Italy,
Belgium or Netherlands; working with various conductors like Roger Norrington, Aldo
Ceccato, Gordan Nikolich, Yaron Traub, Miguel Romea, Dirk Vermeulen, Víctor Pablo
Pérez, Vicent Alberola, Cristóbal Solerm, Arón Zapico or Lucas Macías along with
She plays with several chamber groups, also performing in different charity projects. In
this field she received masterclasses from members of the Quiroga String Quartet,
Tempest Trio and other professionals like Daniel Blumental, Eric Robberecht, Dirk
Vermeulen, Alexander Osokin, Vieslaf Rekucki or Marco Antonio García de la Paz.
